The Great British Sunday Roast is a cultural essay by the English writer Michael Lieber. First published in 2009, it was later included in his 2024 collection 'Finding the Christmas Spirit and other essays'.
With great use of wit and humour, Lieber delves into the historical beginnings of the Sunday lunch; including the invention of the Yorkshire pudding, the gravy recipe that was lost forever, where to find the best beef and a celebration of all four corners of the United Kingdom, that came together to create this astonishing dish.
